Illegal Rage

It’s annoying enough that the Star Spangled Banner was sung in Spanish – but to change the words to it to reflect how the illegal immigrants feel about a country that isn’t “theirs” is downright insulting. I ask myself – how would the French take it if their National Anthem was first, translated into American style English then had the words changed? Considering how Jacque Chirac felt about a fellow Frenchman addressing a Summit in English – well, you can see how open the French would be about that. And rightfully so. It’s a part of a nation’s heritage and to trash it with someone else’s political agenda is crap. And shame on the British jackass that did it. What do you know of the plight of the illegals?

Indeed, looking at the pictures of the signs from yesterdays lame assed protests, one would think that just since ChimpyMcBushyHaliburton took office, we “the American people” have gone on a land grab like no other – we have murdered millions of innocent Mexicans on their home ground, wrested California, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Florida and possibly New York all in a matter of 6 years. Damn! For such a stupid president, he certainly has managed to gain power over a lot of territory. I’m impressed.

I have also noticed that it seemed that a lot of media outlets were calling this a immigrant protest… not really distinguishing from the illegal aliens and the legal and naturalized citizens. Hmmm… see, I would bet that most of the American population has no problem whatsoever with Immigrants coming here and trying to remain here legally. After all, a vast majority of us are descendants of immigrants.

Since I don’t have my own biological family history to fall back on… I will tell you something about my adopted family’s. (Which I had learned back in 2004, actually.) My mom and I went to NYC and while there we stopped off at Ellis Island. There we found out the history of how immigrants were handled back in the day. Unlike all the Romanized shite that we all hear concerning the wide open arms of Ms. Liberty accepting the wretched refuse, the honest version paints a harsher picture. Perhaps some of our illegal friends should take a lesson in it.

While we were there, we took it to our heads to locate the records on her grandfather. WE couldn’t find him in the Ellis Island records for the date he originally came (apparently he disembarked in Boston) but we did find records on when he came back with his wife. See, originally, they only had enough money for one of them to come over. After getting to the shores of the promised land, there had to be someone there to meet you (family, friend, employer), you had to have the promise of a job and proof of such and lastly, one had to have $50 dollars in your pocket (I think, it may have been 25, but I think $50 was more like it.) You also had to be in fairly decent health. If you didn’t meet these qualifications, they put you back on the boat and sent you home. And that was if you were a man. Women either had to have a husband or Fiancée waiting or a job (mostly indentured servant type jobs.) Many women would marry right there on the island to complete strangers just for a chance to walk into this country.

My great grandfather had these things, but had to leave his wife in Holland for three long years as he build up enough savings to buy some land, start his own farm, build a house, get back on a ship and go and get my great grandmother. Who was motion sick for the entire three week trip back to this country. So, I am sorry I don’t buy into the whole sense of entitlement that the illegals are ranting about. They are here illegally, they are breaking the law and they are whining about this country trying to enforces that law and protect its own boarders at least ½ as much as Mexico does.

And by the way, as you are waving the Mexican flag in my face and saying how horrible this country is to you – the only thing I can really think of to say is go back to Mexico then. Get the hell out of my face and go back. No one put a gun to your head to force you to come here so get the hell out.

And as for those “jobs” that supposedly Americans won’t do – I got a plan for those folk who are now living on unemployment and other government subsidies that are suckling off the government teat – “Oh look – a large amount of jobs just opened up. Get off your ass and get to workin’!”

Oh, and speaking of all that land that you feel the US has stolen from you - did it ever occur to you that even if the US gave that land back to Mexico - ya' all would be crossing the borders into Oregon, Utah, and Oklahoma - ok, maybe not Oklahoma... but the problem that has driven you out of your home would still be a FREAKIN' PROBLEM?!?!?!?!? sigh...

Ok, I think I am done. For now...

The ones who needed to read this can't read English; but I bet you feel better all ready.

On a side note; filling in the boxes prior to leaving a comment reminds me of the practice drills we had to do on the typewriter at the beginning of class. For you youngsters, a typewriter was a keyboard that had no monitor, no mouse and had a built in printer.
