Seriously, folks

Bring on the stupidity.

My thoughts are with those who have survived the storm, only to lose the things that are most important to them. That said -

If I hear of anymore people bitching about how hurricane Katrina has made their lives a little more inconvenient because the price of gas has gone up, I think I am going to track them down and beat them senseless with a two by four. Seriously – there are people that have lost their homes, their jobs, their cars, their families and their lives. Please take into account that there are a lot of people that are now worse off than you. Yeah, you’ll have to pay more at the pump, but at least you still have your car to take you to the job you still have or the home you still have to be with family you still have…

Asshats.

Those of us not affected by the hurricane need to count our blessings. Living in Houston, it very easily could have been us. One very close friend of mine has her son and three of his friends staying at her house. No telling how long they will be there. It took him 13 hours to drive from New Orleans the day before the storm hit. He works and lives very near the French Quarters and more than likely he now out of a job and a place to live. My friend is grateful that her son had enough sense to get out. Count your blessings.

I think I'm more angry with the looters, but since you brought it up... (LOL) Yesterday gas here was $2.78 a gal. today it is $3.44, now personally I do not think Katrina caused that. I think we're being ripped off! Somebody who reads this in some other state where your already over the $3.00 mark might think we don't have it so bad... (I'm in North Carolina) but consider that it jumped over 60 cents in less than 24 hours here. That's just crazy.

For my rant on looting - read my site, but PLEASE do not be one of those bleeding hearts who think the poor should grab what they can! ;>
