Torture at GitMo?

Apparently there is torture at GitMo, it's just not what the American people are lead to believe from the "evil Media conglomerate™."

As reported by Lt. Col.Gordon Cucullu:
After speaking with soldiers, sailors, and civilians who collectively staff Gitmo, I left convinced that abuse definitely exists at the detention facilities, and it typically fails to receive the press attention it deserves: it’s the relentless, merciless attacks on American servicemen and women by these terrorist thugs. Many of the orange jumpsuit-clad detainees fight their captors at every opportunity, openly bragging of their desire to kill Americans. One has promised that, if released, he would find MPs in their homes through the internet, break into their houses at night, and “cut the throats of them and their families like sheep.” Others claim authority and vindication to kill women, children, and other innocents who oppose their jihadist mission authorized by the Koran (the same one that hangs in every cell from a specially-designed holder intended to protect it from a touching the cell floor – all provided at U.S. taxpayer expense). One detainee was heard to tell another: “One day I will enjoy sucking American blood, although their blood is bitter, undrinkable….”

Read the whole thing.

And then read this: GitMo's Menu. If I ate like that every day I would be pushing maximum density.

Now contrast that to the story of recently released Douglas Wood, who, according to Andrew Jaspan, should have been more grateful to his captors. After all, they fed him. (Bread and water, once a day). They also kicked him in the head, kept him blindfolded and bound for 47 days, shaved him bald, killed two of his colleagues, made him beg for his life, and -- says a fellow hostage from Sweden -- shot several other prisoners in front of him.

What was that you were saying about abuse?

The left's mantra? "Destroy America at all costs!"

Lefties hate America. They wish to see it rent to pieces in front of their eyes; nothing would do their hearts more good. They're as evil as Al Qaida, just as insane, but too gutless to take up arms against all those who refuse their jihad.

So they'll destroy America one schoolchild at a time. Take one type of gun, then another. Give power to large corporations through their allies in Big Gummint to steal individual's private property. Report every negative thing happening in the world and blame it on the U.S. Make propaganda films that confirm the very worst, yet egregiously false suspicions the illiterate masses of the Third World have of our nation.

They're the enemy. It's too early to shoot these people, and normal folks aren't interested in locking them up for treason, so we'll have to defeat them one idea at a time, until all there's left are a couple of scraggly-haired dope-smoking hippies, cowering in a basement, shrouded in a marijuana haze, remembering the glory days where Carter was leading our nation into ruin and the Soviets were on the march around the globe.

I don't think I would ever go that far. I know quite a few "lefties" that do love this country. My father, for one. He loved it so much he signed up for the National Guard during a time of war. And despite the fact that he doesn't agree with the current administration, he still loves it. Our politics are different, but he loves this country.
My mother is considered a "lefty" thought she doesn't believe in abortion and she is a strict catholic. However, she is a schoolteacher (well, Vice Principal now) of a catholic high school and she believes in programs to help the poor. She has also spent time ministering and caring for the poor in other countries. She is about as Christian as one can get before being labeled as a born again. My brother (as much as I don't care for him as a person) works for the federal government, not something a person who wants to tear down a government and everything it stands for would do. He works in the forestry service but agrees that some of the environmental laws are stupid. There are many more people who are of the left that I know and respect, and some of them remain my friends despite our political differences. The people you are referring to are those who make up the extreme. And there are extremes on both sides to be wary of… just be careful of over generalizations.

Just watch, Ethne. In 20 years, the US will be sued for reparations by former Gitmo detainees because they've suffered health problems from being overweight.

Gods! We treat their wounds, feed them better than the average American household can afford to eat, given them their religious trappings, and provide them regular medical care. Four doctor's visits a month, on average???

Yet they still try to harm our soldiers, and they threaten to kill them and their families, as well as any other American they can get their hands on.

This is so much bullshit. The next person who makes the Gitmo = Gulag comparison in my hearing is going to get both barrels.
